
Habiganj, Aug 20 (UNB) - Train services between Sylhet and rest of the country, which remained suspended for about 14 hours, resumed this (Friday) morning.
The engine and a bogey of Sylhet bound Jayantika Express train from Dhaka derailed at Lashkarpur level crossing near Shyestaganj when the train rammed into a goods laden truck, leaving at least 20 people injured at 7:30pm on Thursday.
Train services as well as traffic movement by road between Sylhet and other parts of the country came to a halt following the accident, said sources.
Vehicular movement by road between Sylhet and other parts of the country was restored at 8:45
pm on Thursday.
Train services between Sylhet and rest of the country resumed at about 9:30am Friday after a relief train from Akhaura rescued the derailed train and repaired the affected rail track.
