
Thakurgaon, Aug 22 (UNB) - Farmers cultivated Aman paddy on 1.33 lakh hectares of land in the district this season exceeding the target.
Farmers of the district became anxious due to absence of rain in the beginning of August but the last week’s rain brought relief among them.
Department of Agriculture Extension sources said a target was set to bring 1.29 lakh hectares land under Aman cultivation but the enthusiastic farmers cultivated 1.33 lakh hectares exceeding the
target.
Some 3.46 lakh mts of paddy are expected to be produced in the district, DAE sources said.
