BSF shot dead farmer in Satkhira border

Satkhira, Aug 24 (UNB) - Indian border security force (BSF) today fired across the border killing a poor farmer at Bashirhat border village.

Bashirhat police rescued the body of young man, but his identity was not immediately available.

BDR officials confirmed that BSF troops of Joynagar outpost fired two gunshots in the morning killing the farmer.

A flag meeting of BDR and BSF was held later in the afternoon near the main border pillar No. 7. Joynagar BSF outpost Inspector M. Tako admitting firing across the border said they were compelled to open fire as they came under attack by the cattle grazers.
