Indian cloths seized in Ctg; 1 held

Chittagong, Aug 24 (UNB) - Police recovered a truck load of Indian cloths worth about Tk 10 lakh and arrested a man at Eidgah area in city’s Double Mooring thana on Tuesday.

The arrested was identified as Zafar of Chowddagram upazila of Comilla.

Being tipped-off, police raided a truck at the entry point of the city and seized the truck loaded with 552 saris and 647 three pieces at 12:30pm.

The truck driver and helper fled away leaving behind their vehicle during the raid.

The cloths were brought here via Chowddagram upazila in Comilla for selling those in local markets.
