Dhaka, Aug 26 (UNB) - The government has decided to form a vigilance team to check black marketing of bus and train tickets to ease the traveling of home bound people ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
The vigilance team, headed by a deputy secretary of the Communications Ministry, is supposed to start the drive within a couple of days, according to an official source.
The vigilance team will conduct surprise raid in different bus terminals, counters and rail stations in the capital.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held at the Communications Ministry on re-fixation of the rate of toll for the vehicles on Thursday noon. Communications Minister Syed Abul Hossain chaired the meeting.
It decided to stop toll collection from the vehicles ply on on Chandpur Natunbazar-Puran bazar Link Bridge.
The Ministry has also asked Chief Engineer of Department of Roads and Highways to submit the report after re-examining the matter of re-fixating toll rate for vehicles ply on Shahid Rafique bridge on Chandpur-Singair-Manikganj link road and Mahananda bridge on Nawabganj-Kansat-Sonamasjid road.
