BSPA accords reception to two sports writers

Dhaka, Aug 26 (UNB) - Bangladesh Sports Press Association (BSPA) on Thursday accorded reception to two veteran sports writers - Selim Nazrul Haque and Akhter Hossain Khan - on the occasion of World Sports Journalist Day.

State Minister for Youth and Sports Ahad Ali Sarkar was the chief guest at the reception held at the NSC Tower in the afternoon and handed over the crests and blazers inscribed with BSPA logo to the two sports writers.

The reception was presided over by BSPA general secretary Arif Sohel while BSPA president Rezaur Rahmqan Sohag was present.

Sports organizers, writers, players and BSPA members attended reception.

Each year, the BSPA observes the World Sports Journalist Day on July 2 as in the 150 countries around the globe according reception to the sports journalists for their outstanding contributions.

This year, the BSPA deferred the reception for the World Cup Football that concluded last month.

In his immediate reaction, Selim Nazrul Haque said the reception accorded to him by the BSPA is a great honor and he would always remember this day.

Akhter Hossain Khan, former sports reporter of the daily Observer during 1969-74, said the reception was the best achievement in his life. He also expressed his gratitude to BSPA for choosing him for the honor.
