Robbers loot valuables from a garment factory killing its security guard in Gazipur; 4 injured

Gazipur, Aug 28 (UNB)-Robbers looted valuables from a garment factory after killing its security guard and injuring four others at Kashimpur in Sadar upazila early this (Saturday) morning.

The deceased was identified as Hamidul Islam, 45, hailed from Gaibandha district.

Police said a gang of armed muggers swooped on the Parpel Fabrics Lt at dead of night and took its five security guards into hostage at gunpoint.

Being frightened when the guards raised a hue and cry the robbers beat them mercilessly, leaving Hamidul dead on the spot and four others injured.

Later entering the factory the gang looted machineries of the factory, computers and bundles of yarn from different rooms and decamped with the booties taking those valuables in a covered van,
said the injured security guards.

The officials of the factory claimed that the bandits took away valuables worth Tk 1 crore from the factory.
