Man beaten to death over land dispute in C’nawabganj

Chapainawabganj, Aug 29 (UNB) - A man was beaten to death by miscreants over land dispute at Chakkirti village in Shibganj upazila on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abdul Karim, 40, son of late Wajed Ali of the village.

Police and locals said a group of villagers including Manirul, Sadekul and Bairul was building houses at a mango orchard owned by Chakkirti College Principal Tajemul Haque in the morning.

The miscreants mercilessly beat and injured Tajemul`s people including Karim who tried to resist them.

Karim was rushed to Shibganj upazila health complex with serious wounds and later succumbed to his injuries at about 4pm on to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he was referred to.

Police arrested Alam in suspicion of his involvement in the murder.
