Four commit suicide in Thakurgaon

Thakurgaon, Aug 31 (UNB) - Four people including a couple committed suicide in sadar upazila and Peerganj upazila on Sunday and Monday.

Police and locals said a couple committed suicide by taking poison at Uttar Thakurgaon village in sadar upazila on Sunday evening.

The deceased were identified as Tamulya Barman, 26, son of Ozindar Barman of village North Thakurgaon and his fiancé Putul Rani, 18, daughter of Joynath of village South Bathina.

They committed suicide by taking poison together as villagers insulted them seeing the couple in indecent condition in the evening.

In another incident, Khakin Chandra Barman, 48 committed suicide by hanging himself with a tree near his house at Goreya Gopalpur village in sadar upazila early Monday.

He committed suicide due to unbearable pain for his illness.

Mita Basai Barmani, a sexagenarian woman committed suicide by hanging herself with ceiling of an abandoned house at Bishmail village in Peerganj upazila on Sunday morning.
