Bangladeshi garments and knitwear exporters get export order worth $57.5 million

Dhaka, Aug 31 (UNB) - Bangladesh garments and knitwear manufactures and exporters got export order worth 57.5 million Dollars in the Las Vegas MAGIC Sourcing Show-August 2010.

A four-day long ‘Men’s Apparel Guild in California’ (MAGIC) Show was rolled out from August 16-16 in Las Vegas, the biggest city of the State of Nevada, USA, said a release.

MAGIC is the largest trade show in the North America which organizes two shows annually- one in February and the other one in August.

Under the auspices of Export Promotion Bureau, eight garment manufactures participated in the show.

Consulate General of Bangladesh in Los Angeles provided cooperation in coordination with EPB, MAGIC authority and the exhibitors.

Participating exhibitors informed that Bangladeshi exhibitors got export orders of approximately US$ 57.5 million.

Bangladesh Consulate General in Los Angeles extended all necessary assistance and support to Bangladeshi exhibitors by assigning its officials during the show.

A delegation from Bangladesh, led by Lutful Hai, Chairman of Parliamentary standing Committee on Ministry of Commerce, attended the MAGIC Show, inspected the Bangladesh stalls and exchanged views with the MAGIC authority.

The Consul General during his visit in the MAGIC Show met the exhibitors of all eight stalls and inquired about wellbeing and exchanged views with them and discussed about the ways and means for greater participation of Bangladesh in next MAGIC Show.
