Dhaka, Aug 31 (UNB) - Law Reporters Forum urged President Zillur Rahman to pardon Special Correspondent of Amar Desh Oliullah Noman.

The Supreme Court on August 19 sentenced Noman to one month in jail and fined him Tk 10,000 and seven more days in jail in default on charge of the contempt of court.

“As a responsible citizen of the state and journalists working in law arena we, of course, respect the judgment of the country’s highest court, but still we appeal to the honorable President to pardon the accused considering the case on humanitarian ground,” the law reporters said in a press release on Tuesday.
