President holds Janmashtami reception at Bangabhaban today

News - President holds Janmashtami reception at Bangabhaban today
Dhaka, Sept 1 (UNB) - President Zillur Rahman on Wednesday hosted a reception to the members of Hindu community at Bangabhaban on the occasion of holy Janmashtami, the birthday of Shri Krishna.

Water Resources Minister Ramesh Chanda Sen and State Minister for Religious Affairs Md Shahjahan Mia were present on the occasion.

Indian High Commissioner Rajeet Mitter and Nepalese Ambassador Pradeep Khatiwada were also present at the reception.

Besides, Hindu religious personalities and leaders of the community including Principal of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission Swami Aksharananda Maharaj joined the reception.

Leaders of Mohanagar Puja committee Dhiresh Chandra Saha, Basudev Dhar, Joyanta Kumar Dev and Dr Aroop Ratan Chowdhury, judges, academics, freedom fighters, journalists including Shyamol Datta, Ajit Kumar Sarkar, Suvash Chandra Badal, Modhusudan Mondol and Bhanu Ranjan Chkakravorty, lawyers, doctors, businessmen, artistes, singers, high civil and military officials and retired government officials also attended the reception.

President Zillur Rahman welcomed the guests at Bangabhaban and exchanged greetings with them.
