News - BNP vows to unseat govt thru movement for its anti-nation activities
Dhaka, Sept 1 (UNB)- BNP secretary general Khandaker Delwar Hossain on Wednesday vowed to unseat the government for what he called its activities against the interests of the people and the country.

“This government will be removed from power through people’s movement for its anti-people, anti-nation activities,” he told a crowd after placing wreath and offering prayer at the mazar of slain President Ziaur Rahman on the occasion of BNP’s 32nd founding anniversary.

Delwar said that BNP is opposing the government activities including the agreements signed against the interest of the country. He called for unity in BNP to build up effective movement to foil the “blueprint of the government.”

He said whenever their party, BNP, had assumed power, that Awami League created obstructions to rule the country. “But, we are opposing the government activities in the interest of the nation.”

Responding to the Prime Minister’s allegation that President Zia had opposed Sheikh Hasina and her sister’s return to the country, Delwar said it was President Zia who had created the opportunity to all Awami Leaguers to do politics again.

Accusing the ruling Awami League of trying to destroy BNP, he said all conspiracies against BNP will be frustrated under the leadership of Khaleda Zia.

Delwar urged the BNP leaders and workers to uphold Ziaur Rahman’s ideal of multi-party democracy and self-reliant Bangladesh.

Senior leaders of BNP and its front organizations placed wreaths and joined the prayer at Zia’s mazar.

BNP began a week-long program from August 31 to observe the party’s 32nd founding anniversary.
