Dhaka, Sept 3 (UNB) - Home Minister Sahara Khatun said that there is no report of extortion at city’s markets and shopping malls on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Law and order situation also did not deteriorate. Stern directives have been given to law enforcing agencies so that law and order situation does not deteriorate, she said.

The minister said this to journalists after visiting Gausia, New Market and Rapa Plaza on Friday.

IGP Hasan Mahmud Khandaker, Home Secretary Abdus Sobhan Shikder, Director General of RAB Moklesur Rahman and President of Shop Owners’ Association Helal Uddin accompanied the minister during the visit.
