Keraniganj, Sept 3 (UNB) - Two RAB members and a drug peddler were injured in a gunfight between RAB and drug peddlers at Malancha in Keraniganj Model thana Thursday night.

The elite force received secret information that drugs were being unloaded from a CNG-run auto rickshaw in the area at about 9pm Thursday.

As a team of RAB-10 raided area, the drug peddlers fired gunshots sensing the presence of elite force.

RAB members also fired back, triggering a 10-minute gun battle, that left RAB constable Motaleb, 30, Sub-inspector Zaman, 35, and drug peddler Ali, 26, injured.

Ali was caught in injured condition while his other accomplices managed to escape from the spot.

One hundred and fifty can beer and 50 bottles of phensidyl were also recovered from the spot following the fight.

Two injured RAB members were admitted to a local hospital.

Ali was handed over to local police today (Friday).

RAB filed two cases---one under Arms Act and another under Narcotics Control Act--with local thana in this connection.
