Dhaka, Sept 3 (UNB) - Two women were killed in separate incidents-one in a road accident and another in beating--in Natore and Satkhira today (Friday).

In Natore, Runa Begum, 40, wife of Abul Hasan of Bolaripara of the town, was injured when her sari was entangled with the wheels of a battery-run auto-rickshaw at Kanaikhali in the town.

She was rushed to Sadar Hospital where doctors declared her dead after admission.

She met the accident in the morning while she was going to a local bazaar for Eid shopping by the auto-rickshaw.

UNB Satkhira Correspondent said: Rehana Khatun, 29, was allegedly beaten to death by her husband Rafiqul Gazi and brother-in-law Mofijur Gazi at Passhemari village in Shyamnagar upazila for
protesting her husband’s second marriage.

Rafiqul and Mofijur, sons of Nesar Gazi of the village, went into hiding following the incident, which took place early hours.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to local hospital morgue for autopsy.
