Ziaur Rahman earns three points in Malaysia Open Chess

Dhaka, Sept 3 (UNB) - GM Ziaur Rahman earned three points in the 7th IGB Dato Authur Tan Malaysia Open Chess Championship after the 4th round matches at the CitiTel MidVally in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Friday.

GM Niaz Murshed earned 2.5 points while Abdullah Al Saif secured two points.

In the day’s 4th round matches, Zia beat FM Pham Chuong of Vietnam, Saif beat Fong Mi Yen of Malaysia and Niaz drew with Wang Jue of China.

Earlier, in the 3rd round matches on Thursday, Zia beat IM Liew Chee-Meng-Jimmy of Malaysia while Niaz lost to GM RR Laxman of India and Saif lost to Pham Choung.

The 5th round matches start tomorrow (Saturday) at the same venue.
