1 killed 18 injured in Manikganj road crash

Manikganj, Sep 3 (UNB) - A fish trader was killed and eighteen others injured in a road accident at Bathuli area on Dhala-Aricha highway in Dhamrai upazila on Friday evening.

The identity of the deceased and injured could not be known immediately.

Highway police said the accident occurred at about 5pm when the driver of a Dhaka bound fish laden pick up van from Satkhira lost control over the steering and felt into a road side ditch, leaving one fish trader dead on the spot and 18 others injured including driver and helper of the pick up van.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the deceased and injured with the help of local people.

Traffic movement of the highway remained halt for half an hour causing huge traffic jam.

The injured were admitted to different clinics at Savar.
