Khaleda offers Juma’tul Bida prayer at Masjid-e-Nabubi

News - Khaleda offers Juma’tul Bida prayer at Masjid-e-Nabubi
Madina, Sept 3 (UNB) - Opposition leader Khaleda Zia, now in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah, on Friday offered Juma’tul Bida prayer at the holy Masjid-e-Nabubi along with million of Muslim from across the world.

Khaleda prayed to almighty Allah for peace and progress of the people of Bangladesh and of the Muslim ummah.

After saying her Asr prayer at the Masjid-e-Nabubi, she was scheduled to leave Madinah for Makkah via Jeddah to perform Umrah today (Friday).

Earlier, Khaleda Zia has made ziarat of the holy Rawza Mubarak of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) inside the Masjid-e-Nabubi. She offered special prayers at the Rawza Mubarak at 10 pm Thursday local time (BST 1 am Thursday) and sought blessing of almighty Allah for peace, progress and prosperity of Bangladesh and its people as well as solidarity of Muslim Ummah.

Sharmila Rahman and Zahia Rahman, wife and daughter of Arafat Rahman Koko, Khaleda Zia’s youngest brother Shamim Eskander, his wife Kaniz Fatema, BNP chairperson’s adviser Sabihuddin Ahmed and Mosaddek Ali Falu, press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan, special assistant Shimul Biswas, Khaleda’s PS Saleh Ahmed, and some local leaders of BNP accompanied Khaleda Zia during the ziarat.

Khaleda Zia, who arrived in Madinah on August 30 to perform holy umrah, offered prayers in congregation (jama’t) at the Masjid-e-Nabubi and took iftar Thursday together with million of Muslims from across the world.

BNP chairperson’s entourage members and local leaders, including Madinah BNP president Nuruzzaman, its organizing secretary Altaf Hossain, Jubo Dal president Noor Karim Bhutto and general secretary Zaman Ahmed Sumon, also joined the iftar.

BNP chairperson and leader of the opposition Khaleda Zia exchanged pleasantries with Bangladeshi expatriates in Saudi Arabia and leaders and workers of local BNP and its front organizations during her way to and from the Masjid-e-Nabubi every day.
