Man held with 100 bottles of phensidyl in Manikganj

Manikganj, Sept 4 (UNB) - Police in a drive arrested a drug peddler along with 100 bottles of phensidyl from Sadar upazila stand area on Friday night.

The arrestee was identified as Panju Mia, 25, son of Hossain Ali of Chak Kalikapur village in Doulatpur upazila.

Acting on secret information, a police team conducted a drive in the area and arrested Panju Mia at about 8:30 pm.

Later, they recovered 100 bottles of phensidyl which were kept in a basket.

Another report from Sirajganj adds: Three alleged drug peddlers were arrested along with 97 bottles of phensidyl in Pashchimpara area of Ullapara upazila town on Thursday night.

The arrestees were identified as Abdul Malek of Char Satbaria village, Akhtar Hossain and Shahjahan Ali of Khaliapara village in the upazila.

Acting on secret information police arrested them while they were going to Lahirimohonpur Railway Station Bazaar along with the contraband syrup.

A case was filed against them under Narcotics Control Act.
