SAO PAULO, Sept 4 (AP/UNB) - The Brazilian football federation says that a bout of gastroenteritis has forced left back Marcelo to leave its training camp in Spain and that Barcelona defender Adriano is replacing him.
The squad began a five-day training stint in Barcelona on Friday and will finish Tuesday.
Brazil will not play any friendly matches, but a practice game against Barcelona's B team is scheduled for Tuesday.
Coach Mano Menezes said he decided to put the players through a training camp because the federation was not able to set up a friendly against a major international side.
The coach did not select players from Brazilian clubs.
