Expatriate killed, valuables looted from a house in Munshiganj; 3 injured

Munshiganj, Sept 5 (UNB) - An expatriate was shot dead and three people were wounded by robbers who looted cash and valuables from a house at Goalkhali village in Sirajdikhan upazila on Saturday midnight.

The deceased was identified as Tanjil Ahmed Tutul, 25, a Kuwait expatriate and son of Helal Member of the village. He returned home from Kuwait a few months ago.

Police said a gang of 15/20 armed robbers entered the house of Helal Member by breaking open the collapsible gate at about 1am and looted cash and valuables including gold ornaments, confining the inmates at gun point.

They also shot and wounded Tutul, Helal Member, neighbours Abdul Malek and Ruhul Amin who tried to resist them before decamping with booties.

Tutul was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the attending doctor declared him dead.

A case was filed with Sirajdikhan thana in this connection.
