4 held along with liquor in separate drives in Gazipur

Gazipur, Sept 6 (UNB) - Police arrested four people along with 150 packets of local and 240 cans of foreign liquor in separate drives in Tongi here last week.

Police said acting on secret information SI Aminul Islam halted a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the night of August 29 at Nama Bazar area and arrested drug peddler Shamsun Nahar and driver Alam Hossain along with 150 packets of locally made liquor kept in four sacks.

On the same day, police conducted a drive at the godown of Matin of Mill Bazar and seized 192 bottles of foreign liquor. None was arrested in this connection.

In yet another drive another CNG-run auto-rickshaw driver Nurul Alam and drug peddler Jagir were arrested along with 48 cans of beer at Kamarpara Bridge area on Tongi-Ashulia bypass road at noon.

Separate cases were filed in this connection.
