News - Shab-e-Qadr observed with due solemnity
Dhaka, Sept 7 (UNB) - The holy Shab-e-Qadr, a night of blessings, was observed across the country Monday night with due solemnity.

This night is believed to be the night when Allah revealed the Quran to the Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (SM).

Muslim devotees spent the night seeking divine blessings for peace and progress of the country and the Muslim Ummah as well.

Muslim devotees passed the night offering special prayers, recitation from the holy Quran, holding milad mahfil, zikr, and other religious rituals.

Mosques around the country, including Baitul Mukarram National Mosque, held special munazats and milad mahfils.

On the occasion, radio and television channels put out special programmes while newspapers published special features, highlighting significance of the night.

Earlier, President Md. Zillur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina issued separate messages on the occasion and greeted the people and the Muslims of the world.
