Four of a family killed in Sylhet road accident

Sylhet, Sept 8 (UNB) - Four members of a family were killed in a tragic road accident in Brahmangram area of Balaganj upazila here on Tuesday noon.

The deceased were identified as Kachhai Bibi, 60,
her UK expatriate son Moinul Islam Chowdhury, 34, Moinul’s cousins Shahangir Chodhury, 28, and Mubashshir Chowdhury, 25, hailed from Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj district.

Highway police said a Habiganj bound private car carrying the family members collided head-on with a passenger bus coming from opposite direction while overtaking a covered van, leaving three passengers of the car dead on the spot and Mubashshir Chowdhury critically injured at about 12:00 noon.

The injured was admitted to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where he died after sometime.

Later, police recovered the bodies and sent those to hospital morgue for autopsy. A case was filed.
