
Dhaka, Sep 8 (UNB)- Dhaka Metropolitan police (DMP) and the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have already taken intensive security measures for the Eid holidays.
The elite force RAB has already engaged its 3000 members in the capital to ensure foolproof security for the city dwellers alongside police.
DMP Commissioner AKM Shahidul Haque has directed all of the officers-in-charge (OCs) so that no incidents like burglary, stealing, dacoity or mugging can occur in the capital prior to and during the Eid vacation.
Houses, offices and financial and business establishments will be under lock and key during the Eid vacation as a large number of city dwellers will leave the city to celebrate Eid in their respective villages.
The DMP commissioner also requested the city dwellers not to shift their houses. In cases of urgency, residents are requested to inform the local police as organized thieves use pushcarts, pickup vans and trucks to carry goods and furniture after stealing.
Everyone is requested not to take tea, cigarette, banana-bread, drinks or other food from unknown people, hawkers or vendor to avoid any unpleasant incident.
Shahidul Haque also requested people to inform nearest police about any suspicious people, object or vehicles.
Meanwhile, officials said RAB already set up 20 temporary camps in the capital as past of moves to strengthen its security measures. At the same time, 45 teams are also on-duty patrolling the capital.
Besides, RAB also continues its activities to control extortion and mugging through intelligence and uniform teams at important bus stands, railway stations and launch terminals and their adjoining
areas across the country on the eve of Eid.
RAB also take measures to check crimes like stealing and robbery during eid vacation through area based check post and security patrol.
