President, PM greet countrymen, Muslim Ummah

Dhaka, Sept, 8 (UNB) - President Zillur Rahman and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have greeted the people and Muslim Ummah on the eve of holy Eid-ul-Fitr.

Zillur Rahman in a message said, “I convey my heartiest greetings and Mubarakbad to the countrymen and people of the whole world. Eid brings immense happiness and joy for the mankind after month-long siam of restraint for self purification.”

He added, “the people irrespective of rich and poor, ashraf and atraf - stand in same congregation to seek divine blessings of Almighty Allah on the Eid day.``

``Love and mutual respect consolidate the bondage of unity and solidarity and conflagrate the flame of humanity,” said the President adding, “The appeal of Eid-ul-Fitr to build a society endowed with peace and solidarity is eternal.``

Hoping a joyous Eid for all he said “Let us all build a peaceful, happy, prosperous country burying all differences imbued with the spirit of Eid-ul-Fitr.”

In a separate message Prime Minister said Eid heralds the advent of joy and happiness for all after month-long siam.

``I congratulate the beloved countrymen and the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the biggest religious festival of Muslims. Eid teaches us mutual respect, sympathy and fraternity and binds all with the spirit of equality, love and unity.”

``Eid will bring the message of joy and happiness for all, irrespective of rich and poor. On this auspicious occasion, I pray to Almighty Allah for continued peace, progress and prosperity of our
beloved motherland and the Muslim Ummah nations,” said the Prime Minister.
