Prisoner fled from custody

Noakhali, Set 8 (UNB) - A jail inmate accused of murder of his young wife and baby son fled with handcuff from the district court hajot today.

Havildar Abdul Mabud was suspended temporarily from service for negligence of duty that provided scope to Farooq Hossain alias Morshed Alam to escape from the custody.

ASP of sadar circle Mizanur Rahman confirmed the action against the police Havildar.

Morshed Alam and his relative Swapan allegedly killed his wife Sawpna, 21 and son Apon, 3, by giving first poison and later strangulating them in Good Hill Hospital in Maizdi on the night of August 24 last year.

Detective police arrested Morshed Alam from a clinic of Chittagong and Swapan from Begumganj Chourasta shortly after the killing.
