News - Anthrax situation now under control in Bangladesh
Dhaka, Sept 9 (UNB) - The anthrax situation is now under control in the country as there has been no new report of any new cattle infected by the disease.

At present the number of infected cow is 39 while goat 55, said a PID handout.

It said vaccines are being given in all risky areas and measures have been taken for quick examination if cows or goats fell sick. “There is no risk in taking meat or milk of healthy cows or goats.”

The government has requested the media to verify any news of anthrax related sickness or deaths of cattle from the local Livestock Resources department before disseminating such news.
