News - 3 Pakistan cricketers heading home amid scandal
LONDON, Sept 10 (AP/UNB) - Police say the three Pakistan cricketers questioned over fixing allegations are flying home.
London Metropolitan Police say the players have promised to return to England to assist with the investigation "in due course." Test captain Salman Butt and bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Aamer were questioned by police last week.
They have been suspended by the International Cricket Council on corruption charges.
Their lawyers issued a statement Friday saying the players "are looking forward to being reunited with their families."
It says "they remain available to cooperate fully with the police investigation and have each given undertakings to return to the UK if required to do so." A fourth player, Wahab Riaz, is to be questioned by police next week.
