Dhaka, Nov 10 (UNB) - President Zillur Rahman on Wednesday stressed increasing the trade and commerce between Bangladesh and Philippines with a view to further strengthening bilateral relations.

“The entrepreneurs of Philippines can increase their investment here,” he said when newly appointed Filipino Ambassador to Bangladesh Bahnarim Abu Guinomla presented his credentials to the President at Bangabhaban.

The new Filipino ambassador told the President that he would take necessary measures to identify the possible sectors where trade and commerce between the two countries could be increased.

The President assured all-out support to the ambassador in the discharge of his professional responsibilities in the country.

Secretary to the President’s office M Safiul Alam, Military Secretary Major Gen Abul Kalam M Humayun Kabir and Press Secretary AKM Nesar Uddin Bhuiyan were present.
