Dhaka, Feb 13 (UNB) - Newspaper Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) welcomed the recent amendment to the relevant clauses of Cr. P.C. relating to criminal defamation law dropping the provision of issuing warrant of arrest in defamation cases.

At a meeting held on Saturday, NOAB thanked the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for meeting the long-standing demand of the journalist community.

As a result of the amendment, the provision for issuance of warrant will be replaced by summons.
