Brahmanbaria, Feb 23 (UNB) - 15 people, including six cops, were injured in a clash between two rival groups of Awami League (AL) in Nabinagar upazila on Wednesday.
Police said the two rival groups, one led by Advocate Shah Zikrul Ahmed Khokon, an MP of grand alliance and JSD Leader and another led by Ebadul Karim Bulbul, Awami League leader and owner of Orion group clashed over forming the committee of Nabinagar Poura Awami League, leaving 15 people injured at noon.
Sub-inspector (SI) Harunur Rashid and SI Sadekul Islam of Nabinagar thana were injured as they tried to bring the situation under control.
Of the injured, Harunur Rashid was admitted to a hospital in Comilla while three injured AL leaders--Shafiqul Islam, Rafiqul Islam and Nure Alam-to Sadar Hospital.
