Gazipur, Apr 21 (UNB) - A student of Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology was today expelled for one year for making objectionable remark in the website face-book on the family of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The disciplinary action against Mohammad Lokman, 4th year student of Electric Engineering Department was taken on report of a three-member inquiry committee headed by Prof ATM Kaosar Jamil.

Known as Shibir cadre, Lokman went into hiding.

The order said the expulsion will be mentioned in his certificate on completion of study in the university.

Lokman’s objectionable remark in the face book was found in the website on March 26. Angry BCL activists attacked the shibirites on the campus leaving at least three of them wounded.

Soon police arrested five Shibir cadres including its DUET unit president. A case was filed by BCL unit president Joydev Das against six Shibir cadres. They were later set free on bail.
