Mauritius keen to recruit manpower from Bangladesh

Dhaka, May 31 (UNB) - Labour and Employment Minister Engineer Khandkar Mosharraf Hossain Tuesday said Mauritius has expressed interest to recruit large number of Bangladeshi workers.

Mauritius is willing to recruit manpower from Bangladesh for garments, construction and fish processing sectors, Mosharraf Hossain said while briefing the journalists at his office.

Mosharraf who visited Mauritius recently said he had meetings with Labour Relations and Employment Minister Sakil Ahmed Yusuf Abdur Razzak who expressed willingness to recruit Bangladeshi workers. He also discussed issues related to the rights of the workers and accident related compensations for them.

Meanwhile, the visiting Foreign Minister of Maldives Ahmed Nayeem called on Engineer Khandkar Mosharraf at his this morning and discussed bilateral issues including manpower export to Maldives from Bangladesh. Nayeem Minister has expressed his willingness to recruit Bangladeshi skilled manpower, said Mosharraf.
