Keraniganj, June 22 (UNB) - Two alleged robbers were killed in mass beating in Daripara area here early Wednesday.

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Police said a gang of robbers numbering 7/8 entered into the house of Khalil Mia and took the inmates hostage at gunpoint at around 1am.

The robbers at ones stage stabbed Khalil’s two sons - Badal and Salauddin - indiscriminately as they tried to resist them.

Hearing the hue and cry, neighbors announced the presence of dacoits by a loud speaker and surrounded the house.

Sensing danger when the robbers tried to flee, angry mob caught two of them after a hot chase and gave them mass beating, leaving them dead on the spot.

Later, police recovered the bodies and sent those to Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy this morning.

The injured two brothers were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.

A case was filed in this connection.
