Jamaat’s procession foiled; 2 Jamaat-Shibir activists held in Jhalakati

Jhalakati, June 30 (UNB) - Police foiled a procession of Jamaat-e-Islami and arrested two activists of Jamaat and Islami Chhatra Shibir at Dak Bungalow crossing in Rajapur upazila on Wednesday.

The arrested were identified as Enamul Haque, 45, president of Rajapur sadar union unit of Jamaat and Shibir activist Abu Baksr Siddique, 18.

Police attacked the activists of Jamaat and Shibir, while they were preparing to bring out a procession demanding release of party’s leaders in the morning. The law enforcers dispersed them and arrested two activists.

The arrested were produced before the court of judicial magistrate Nusrat Jahan, who granted them bail in the afternoon on the day.
