Dhaka, July 4 (UNB)- Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) filed two separate cases against ruling Awami League MP Abdul Mannan and his wife Sahad Ara Mannan with Ramna thana for amassing illegal wealth and concealing information about it.

ACC Assistant Director Mohammad Ibrahim filed the cases under sections 26 (2) and 27 (1).

In the case against Mannan elected from Bogra-1, the ACC alleges he earned Tk 51, 96,750 beyond his known sources of income while his wife earned Tk 20, 42,220 illegally and concealing the information about it.

This is for the first time the ACC filed a case against a ruling party MP in two and half years’ time since Awami League returned to power in 2009.
