BUENOS AIRES, AUG 29 (AP/UNB) - Dario Cvitanich scored a 50th-minute equalizer to rescue a 1-1 home draw for Boca Juniors in the Buenos Aires derby with San Lorenzo on Sunday.

A Gabriel Mendez' free kick put San Lorenzo ahead on the half hour mark, but Cvitanich leveled with a second-half header.

The result left Boca tied on eight points with Racing Club and Lanus, behind surprise early leader Atletico Rafaela by one point after four games.

In other results Sunday, Union had a 2-0 win at Colon and Newell's Old Boys came from two down to win 3-2 at Belgrano.

Argentinos Juniors hosts Independiente later.

Meanwhile, River Plate tops the second division with three wins out of three after beating Desamparados 3-1 on Saturday.
