Benapole, Sept 14 (UNB) - Some 13 Bangladeshi nationals including women and children were arrested in Sadipur border area in Benapole for intrusion early Wednesday.
The arrestees were identified as Nazir Gazi, his wife Kohinur Begum, his minor daughter Brishti, Salam Gazi, his wife Shukla Begum, minor son Rahul, Tahmina, wife of Ekamat Sjeikh, her child Yasmin Sheikh, Rashida Begum, daughter of Jabbar Sheikh, Asma Akter, wife of Amjad Sheikh and her daughter Shipri, 2, Merina Akter, daughter of Rukhu Mia and Pannu Sheikh and Maruf Gazi, son of Nazir Gazi. They hail from Narail and Khulna districts.
Acting on secret information, a team of BGB conducted a drive in Sadipur and intercepted them when they were illegally entering Bangladesh, six years after they were trafficked to India.
Asma Akter, a victim said, a gang of human traffickers trafficked them to India for money with the promise of better employment in India in 2005.
A case was filed with Port thana in this connection.
