ICCB team off to Hong Kong to attend ICC-G20 AG meet

Dhaka, Sept 22 (UNB) - A four-member ICC, Bangladesh delegation, led by its President Mahbubur Rahman, left for Hong Kong on Thursday to attend the ICC-G20 Regional Consultation for Asia and the Pacific to be held in Hong Kong on September 22-23.

The business leaders will deliver on the recommendations to be submitted by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and G20 Advisory Group  to the G20 Summit due to be held in Canne, France in November 2011.

ICC has already organised three consultative sessions with regional business leaders in Mexico City, Doha and Zurich, aiming to ensure balance and substance behind its recommendations.

Topics to be covered in the Hong Kong Consultation include: Trade, investment and development ; strengthening financial regulations and ensuring the availability of trade finance; reforming the international monetary system ; mitigating the adverse impacts of commodity price volatility, fighting corruption and  encouraging green growth.

The other members of the ICCB delegation are Latifur Rahman, Vice President of ICC Bangladesh and Chairman and Managing Director, Transcom Limited, Syed Manzur Elahi, Chairman, Apex Adelchi Footwear Limited and Maj Gen (retd) Amjad Khan Chowdhury, President, Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI), Dhaka and CEO of PRAN-RFL Group.
