City and Poura Karmachari Federation observe hunger strike in city
Dhaka, Oct 16 (UNB) - Bangladesh City and Poura Karmachari Federation on Sunday observed a symbolic mass hunger strike on Central Shaheed Minar premises to press their six-point demand.
The demand include introducing pension system for them, payment of salary from government funds, cancellation of section 68 of Local Government Act and regularization of jobs.
A huge number of officials and employees of different city corporations and pourshavas took part in the programme.
The activities of all city corporations and pourashavas in the country would be halted by enforcing simultaneous strike from October 31 if their demand was not met by October 30, said a release of the Federation.
