CMC closed for indefinite period

Chittagong, Oct 22 (UNB) - Chittagong Medical College was declared closed Saturday for indefinite period amid campus violence following the death of a student.

The authorities after an emergency meeting Friday night declared the medical college closed sine die and asked all male and female students to vacate the hostels by 7:30am today in a bid to avert further flare-ups.

Abidur Rahman, a BDS fourth year student of the college died on Friday and six others were wounded after overnight torture allegedly by the cadres of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) two days back.

The principal of the college banned student politics on the campus.
