Dhaka, Nov 19 (UNB)- Bangladesh and India Home Secretary level meeting began in New Delhi Saturday, discussing a host of issues including easing of Indian visa regime for Bangladeshi travelers.

The meeting held at Hotel Tajmahal also discussed extradition treaty, Land Boundary Agreement of 1974, Land Boundary Protocol, the Tin Bigha Corridor, firing along the border, prisoners in each other’s country, human trafficking and smuggling of drugs.

Bangladesh Home Secretary Monzur Hossain led a 14-member visiting delegation while his counterpart S.K. Singh led the 14-member home side.

Minister (Press) at Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi Enamul Huq Chowdhury told UNB that the meeting discussed problems in getting access to the online Indian visa procedure, and decided to simplify it to reduce the sufferings of the Bangladeshi visa applicants.

He said the meeting also exchanged views on a possible extradition treaty and a document in this regard would be exchanged between the two sides soon.

The meeting will conclude on Monday with the issuing of a joint statement.
