Benapole, Nov 20 (UNB)-Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members rescued 16 people while being trafficked to India through Sadipur border in Benapole Sunday morning.
BGB commander Liakat Ali said acting on secret information, they launched along the border and rescued seven women, six children and three men.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the traffickers fled away.
Asia Begum, one of the victims, traffickers took money from them alluring them of giving good job in India.
The victims hail from Najirhat village in Kalia upazila of Narail district.
They were handed over to Benapole port thana police. A case was filed.
