Mymensingh, Nov 27 (UNB) - Dhobaura upazila chairman Pahari Selim was sent to jail hajat on Sunday in a graft case.
Selim, also a local Awami League leader, surrendered before the 2nd Additional District and Sessions Judge Court at noon seeking bail in a case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission.
Judge Sharif Uddin turned down the bail prayer and ordered him to jail hajat.
Plaintiff of the case ACC Inspector Syed Ahmed told newsmen that Selim was accused of embezzling government wealth by making forged documents.
A case was filed against him on December 29, 2001 in this connection.
