Dhaka, Nov 29 (UNB) - Special and diplomatic correspondent of the New Nation Gias Uddin Majumder died at Square Hospital in the city early Tuesday. He was 65.
Earlier, the senior journalist, also freedom fighter, was admitted to the hospital with brain related problem.
He left behind his widow, three daughters, one son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His namaj-e-janaza was held on Press Club premises at 11 am.
He was later laid to rest at his family graveyard at Pathangar village in Chhagolnaiya upazila of Feni.
Meanwhile, National Press Club president Kamal Uddin Sabuj and general secretary Syed Abdal Ahmed in a condolence message expressed their deep shock at the death of Majumder and conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved family members.
