Sec 144 clamped in Jessore as rival parties call meeting at same venue

Benapole, Dec 05 (UNB) - Section 144 was imposed at Farighat in Noapara in Abhoinagar upazila as local BNP and Jubo League called their meetings at Farighat at same time on Monday.

Police said the upazila unit BNP called a meeting at Farighat at 3 pm today. On the other hand local Jubo League, a front organization of Awami League, called their meeting at the venue at the same time.

Tension prevailed in the area as both parties were making preparations to organize their respective meetings.

Apprehending clash local administration imposed emergency section on Farighat from 3 pm to 6 pm today.
