
Dhaka, Jan 20 (UNB) - A daylong ‘Nature Festival’ will be held in Narayanganj on Saturday with a view to creating awareness among people about environment and nature.
Bangladesh Paribesh Bachao Andolan (Bapa), Eastern University and Subarnagram Foundation will jointly organised the festival at Bangladesh Folk Art and Craft Museum in Sonargaon.
Artist Mustofa Monwar, columnist Kamal Lohani and cartoonist Rafiqunnabi (Ranabi) and director of Bangladesh Folk Art and Craft Foundation Rabindra Gope, will, among others, present at the festival.
Talking to UNB, Bapa chairman Abu Naser Khan said “We have to create awareness about nature among people, particularly the young generation.”
About the objectives of the festival, he said knowledge regarding to the environment and nature has to be disseminated among the students of schools and collages to build a green earth and protect its environment.
Abu Naser Khan said environmentalists, representatives from different organisations and thousands of students will take part in the festival.
“We’ll organise ‘Environment Olympiad’, art competition, cultural programmes and discussion on nature in the function,” he said.
