SARAJEVO, FEB 4 (AP/UNB) - Huge falls of snow have trapped people in their homes and vehicles across Bosnia, and even prevented the presidents of neighboring Serbia and Croatia from going home.

More than a meter (three feet) of snow fell on the capital, Sarajevo, trapping most people in their homes. About 30 people spent the night in their vehicles in a tunnel south of Sarajevo and called local radio stations Saturday to appeal for help, saying they had children with them and were running out of fuel.

Snow plows sent to help trapped drivers also got stuck.

Many towns and villages were cut off, and the presidents of Serbia and Croatia who attended a summit at a ski resort near Sarajevo on Friday, were not able to leave the mountain after the meeting.
